Jonna Rotte -- Jowar Roti -- How to make Jowar Roti

Jonna Rotte
Jowar ki roti..jowar rotte is the main course in some parts of India. Some people take it regularly even now and some with modern life style might have left them though.
Jowar is rich in carbohydrates and high in calories. These are rich in proteins which are essential for building muscle and other bodily tissues.
These rotis are made with hand instead of rolling pin. As jowar flour is gluten-free, it is very tough to spread the dough without breaking the shape. We need to do a lot of practice. These are taken in  breakfast in some parts of Andhra and at some places it is the main course meal.
I learned this from one of my friend. They take this as the main course. She taught me the way it has to be made i.e. spread it with hand. I have improved the skill of making them with hand by doing them regularly. These can be served with a spicy mixed vegetable curry. I tried it with soya chunk curry.
Mixing the dough is also very important for these rotis. We have to mix the dough for two or three rotis only at once. We cannot keep it for long.

While patting and spreading and pressing it with fingers and palm make it into a circle.
While patting and spreading if required we can add little of dry flour and pat it till the roti is thin.

Now take a clean kitchen towel and press the roti in short intervals, along the circumference and in the middle.
This will make the roti puffs up and also cooks well and also make it soft. Once cooked remove it from heat.
